The 4th AP-CAT Summit

4th Asia Pacific Cities Alliance For Tobacco Control And Non-Communicable Disease Prevention Summit

25–26 September 2019, Bogor, Indonesia

City leaders from across the Asia Pacific region are invited to attend the 4th AP-CAT Summit, which brings leaders together to:

  • ACT to implement comprehensive tobacco control policies with effective use of resources.
  • CREATE innovative solutions to prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
  • TACKLE industry interference in policy development and implementation by establishing rules and regulations.

The summit will be held in Bogor, Indonesia, a city whose leaders are dedicated to the health of its citizens and is a pioneer in tobacco
control in Indonesia. It is the first city to implement a smoking ban in public places, a ban on tobacco product displays at the
point-of-sale and other tobacco products such as e-cigarettes.

The Alliance, together with co-chairs Bima Arya Sugiarto, Mayor of Bogor and Francis Anthony Garcia, Mayor of Balanga City, invites city leaders — mayors, governors and MPs from across the region — to the 4th AP-CAT summit in Bogor.

AP-CAT was established in 2016 by The Union Asia Pacific Office in Singapore as a network and forum for subnational leaders working to advance tobacco control in the region. Members include representatives from 40 cities in 12 countries with support from Ministries
of Health in Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Lao PDR and Nepal; Bloomberg Philanthropies and The Union.
